The Belvedere Community Foundation was proud to donate
$2500 to the fourth annual Blackie’s Hay Day, which
is held each September. This annual fundraiser supports
the Children’s and Teens Programs at the Belvedere-Tiburon
Library. Reminiscent of a county fair, complete with pony
rides, a petting zoo, toy tractor rides, and a climbing
wall, Blackie’s Hay Day is hosted by Bookmarks, the
volunteer organization which funds in entirety the library’s
youth programs.
In addition, Bookmarks held a book drive at the event
at which over 500 gently used books were collected for
the Global Book Exchange. In lieu of gift bags, key sponsors
were given the opportunity to host a family in need at
the event as a VIP guest. As described by Bookmarks President,
Anne Feinberg, “Our community has shown such tremendous
support for Bookmarks and its efforts over the years that
we wanted to find a way to thank them. We also felt it
important to extend our outreach to other communities that
could benefit from this wonderful generosity.”
Blackie’s Hay Day is scheduled to take
place this year on September 25th. We hope you
will help us support this important community event. |
